This environmentally-conscious haircare startup is rethinking everything about their space, from how people wash and care for their hair to how hairdressers retail products to their clients. They’re redefining what it means to be a truly sustainable business in the context of our ever-changing political, social and economic environment. Their revenue is growing over 50% a year, and they’re keeping pace by building out a team of expert and diverse talent. And that’s where you come in:
Right now they’re looking for a talented Product Manager, Platform to join their team and help them migrate from a custom-built system (that no longer supports their needs) to one that is highly flexible and built from external components like Shopify and Recharge. This company enables salons to sell their product and earn commission, which is a big differentiator. And when this replatforming project ends, you’ll effectively steer that highly strategic side of the business by owning the salons’ digital experience (profile and personalization, sales and commission tracking, customer referrals, and more) and working closely with product, engineering, and UX to deliver features, functionality, and enhancements.

How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
You have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Product Manager at an agency or in-house team. You have long-term aspirations to work on front-end projects, but you live and breathe back-end work today. Systems or app experience is a big plus! You communicate well with engineers and write clear, detailed user stories for developers to execute on. Ideally, you’ve worked at a startup with a complex business model or a two-sided marketplace. You understand the nuance of building platforms and the keen attention to detail that it requires. Perhaps you’ve built a platform before for a startup and/or you have experience with large migrations. You’re a nimble problem solver who is passionate, positive, and interested in making an impact. Not to mention, you have a deep curiosity for data when it comes to gaining insights and building a case for a feature, initiative or decision.
