Senior Manager, FP&A - Clinical & Development

Company Overview:

Our client, a pre-IPO biotech company, is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, FP&A - Clinical & Development. With a strong pipeline of candidates in Phase II and Phase III clinical trials and recent funding of $200 million, our client is positioned for growth. This strategic role involves partnering with the Clinical and Development organization, managing planning processes, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will play a critical part in financial analysis, reporting, and strategic decision-making. This position is hybrid - 3 days/week in office.

Responsibilities:

Partner closely with the Clinical and Development team to provide effective planning and analysis, equipping senior leadership and business partners with the necessary tools to establish goals and measure performance.

Participate in development leadership meetings, ensuring financial considerations are integrated into decision-making processes.

Facilitate strategic headcount planning aligned with business objectives and budget constraints.

Handle financial reporting, including monthly comparisons of actual vs. budget results with relevant variance analysis.

Collaborate with the Accounting team during monthly close to ensure accurate recording of accruals and expenses.

Assist the Head of FP&A in managing the Long-Range Plan (LRP) and budget processes, support internal controls compliance, and prepare finance materials for the Board.

Leverage strong interpersonal skills to collaborate, influence, and build credibility across the organization, especially with the Clinical and Development team.

Educate project team leads and functional heads on the budgeting process and their crucial role in its success.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a relevant field.

7+ years of progressive financial reporting, planning, and analysis experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.

Prior experience supporting R&D organizations and/or teams is highly preferred.

Proven capability in cultivating collaborative relationships within a large organization.

COMPENSATION:

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $180K - 195K base + bonus + equity.
