Valet Attendant

Job Description Job Description DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The primary responsibility of this position is to perform various parking and transportation activities in support of guest transportation services and in support of guest first initiatives. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Responds to guest requests, provides information and assists guests in a timely manner.

2. Welcomes guests requesting valet assistance, issues parking tags and parks and retrieves vehicles.

3. Is responsible for the safe transportation of guest vehicles to and from designated locations.

4. Maintains daily valet shift department reports for review by the Guest Service Supervisor and the Player Services Assistant Manager.

5. Assists in maintaining the appearance of the casino entrance and the valet office.

6. Notifies supervisor, assistant manager, manager, security or facility administrator of situations that may affect guests, associates or the Lake of the Torches Resort Casino.

7. Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Occasional contact with associates at all levels within all departments of the organization.

External: Extensive contact with guests and visitors.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Performs position responsibilities under the direct supervision of the Transportation Supervisor or Player Services Manager checking with supervisor frequently for directions or questions.

EDUCATION: A high school education or equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of six months in a customer service environment or in transportation is preferred.

SKILLS: Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and customer service skills. Must be familiar with PC’s and related software. Must be able to manage and maintain confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy and tact. Must maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations as necessary.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

1. Work Conditions: The majority of responsibilities are performed in the Lake of the Torches Resort Casino parking structures and on roadways with exposure to differentials in temperature.

2. Exposure to Hazards: May be exposed to situations where road conditions, spills, wet floors or guest behaviors may create undesirable conditions.

3. Physical Requirements: Continual walking, bending, standing and lifting is required.

BEHAVIORS: The vision, goals and objectives of Lake of the Torches Resort Casino requires the Valet Attendant to perform in both a professional and personable manner. The manner in which the employee relates to fellow employees, customers and visitors is considered parallel in importance to technical knowledge and ability. Respect and consideration given to the dignity of each customer, visitor and fellow employee is a requisite of successful job performance.

OTHER: Must be able to work irregular hours, weekends, holidays and be available for call in to work on short notice. Must attend all mandatory meetings and departmental training and development sessions. Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and be insurable under the Tribal automobile insurance policy.
