What you get to do:
As part of the Graphic Design Team, this intern will work in coordination with multiple teams throughout Markham on various projects under the direct supervision of the graphic design team. Responsibilities will include but are not be limited to:
Researching and sourcing design materials
Helping create designs, logos, and branding for event materials
Helping create mock-ups of merchandise and renderings of event displays
Helping coordinate timelines and deadlines as needed
Requirements
Who you are: Interest in political work and event design
Attention to detail
Great organization skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work individually and as part of a team
Ability to work well under minimal supervision
Ability to work on multiple projects at one time in an efficient manner
Ability to work in a fast pace environment
Available to work overtime and weekends
Experience using: Adobe Suite
Proficient in: Photoshop, Illustrator
Familiarity with: InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Keynote
Google (Docs, Slides, and Sheets)

COMPENSATION
This is a paid, part-time internship with the opportunity to pick up more hours outside business hours and on the weekends. $18 per hour.
APPLICATION PROCESS
The application period for the Fall 2024 graphic design internship is now open, and we are reviewing applications on a rolling basis. The dates of the Fall internship will begin in late-August and will end in late-January, with some flexibility. While most of the work will be virtual/remote, applicants will need to be based on the East Coast or able to work East Coast hours.
