**Department Purpose**
ASUCD is a multi-dimensional unit that enhances student life. It is dedicated to fulfilling student-oriented goals in the areas of academics, job opportunities, and providing the highest quality student-managed services, activities, and programs at the lowest possible cost. ASUCD is characterized by frequent turnover, a horizontal organizational chart, and elected student leaders. The various units within ASUCD bear no semblance to each other. ASUCD reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and has a dotted line relationship with the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs and the Chancellor.
**Job Summary**
Under general supervision of the ASUCD Business Manager, implement a strategic business plan for sound fiscal management practices of the ASUCD Bike Barn. Oversee bicycle repair and maintenance, sales of new and used bicycles, sales of accessories, maintain accurate inventory of parts, bicycle rental program, including for various campus organizations. Provide employment, mentorship, and teaching opportunities for students.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
**Minimum Education/Experience:**
* Supervisory experience in the management of bicycle repair shop
* Demonstrated experience in interviewing, hiring and training employees
* Experience in organization and communication with employees
**Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) :**
* Skills in advanced mechanical procedures and use of bicycle repair tools
* Skills in repair and maintenance of tools and equipment including the ability in scheduling repairs
* Knowledge in point-of-sale (POS) retail software and operation, programming, and troubleshooting and daily operations of cash handling best practices
* Knowledge in shop organization and inventory control
* Knowledge in monitoring current trade practices and products to negotiate pricing
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
**Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) :**
* Knowledge to teach bike shop operations
* Ability to manage multiple locations and programs including the ability to develop new programs
* Skills to forecast short-term and long-term needs as well as skills to create new revenue streams
