Hays is working with a leading construction company in New York City, and they are seeking an experienced Civil Senior Estimator to join their team. They self perform a majority of their work and do exciting big projects. They have competitive salaries, benefits, and growth opportunities. The majority of their work is with the NYCDOT, NYCDDC, and MTA. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our projects by providing accurate cost estimates and contributing to project planning.
Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, including site work, infrastructure, and heavy civil projects.
Manage the entire bid process, from reviewing project plans and specifications to submitting competitive bids.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate estimates and successful project execution.
Analyze historical data, market trends, and subcontractor quotes to develop accurate cost models.
Identify potential risks and opportunities during the estimation process.
Present estimates to clients and participate in negotiations.
Qualifications: Minimum of 8 years of experience in civil construction estimating.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, HCSS, or similar).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Knowledge of local construction regulations and codes.
