About the role
We are looking for a savvy leader eager to own Ops at an early stage yet rapidly growing startup. You will own company, employee, and customer operational needs by ensuring our business runs smoothly and efficiently for all stakeholders. This will involve general corporate and administrative operations, finance, people & payroll, billing & sales ops, and other miscellaneous operational needs as needed.
This role is essential for maintaining the operational foundation of our company, supporting our growth, and enabling our team to achieve its full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate & Administrative Ops
Maintain company compliance and handle necessary filings with federal, state, and local governments
Manage company correspondence, paper and electronic, to maintain up to date and accurate records and accounts
Partner with Comp’s Co-founder & CTO to oversee and maintain compliance with necessary security programs (e.g. SOC 2)
Streamline operations, improve efficiency, and eliminate waste across the business
Own special projects and initiatives to support company growth and strategic goals as needed
Finance Ops
Manage and maintain frequent communications with bookkeeping and accounting partner
Manage company payables and credit card statements, including expenses
Conduct financial modeling & forecasting to support key business decisions
Own company’s regular financial reporting needs
People Ops
Manage payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
Manage employee onboarding, administration of benefits and perks, trainings, mobile device management, accurate maintenance of employee records, and other necessary People functions
Develop and implement People policies and procedures as necessary
Support design and execution of employee gifts, swag, and team offsites
Execute various administrative duties as needed, including office-related tasks
Billing & Sales Ops
Manage customer billing & streamline billing processes, ensuring on-time payments
Track customer deals and associated metrics, including ARR, account status, and key contract terms/dates
Support procurement activities as needed
Help maintain accurate CRM records
About you
Extreme attention to detail and continuous process improvement
Strong experience with financial modeling and forecasting
High level of trustworthiness and discretion
Excellent verbal and written communication
Successful operating in collaboration and with autonomy
Experience with vendor discovery, assessment, and selection
Experience working with remote & distributed teams, including contractors and consultants
Can deftly articulate rationale behind decisions
Get things done, are incredibly resourceful, and have an ownership mindset
Are humble, and give/take constructive feedback well
