POSITION SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of your job position is to load, transport, and unload residents for medical appointments and activity outings in accordance with all laws and regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist passengers with the on-boarding and off-boarding from vehicle
Transport passengers to and from destination at assigned times or in case of emergency
Provide customer service and friendly interactions with all passengers
Complete pre-inspections before us of vehicle
Clean van each night, removing daily debris
Clean van, inside and out, on a weekly basis
Monitor regular maintenance (i.e. oil changes, tire rotations)
Practice dependable, regular attendance
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents
Must be able to lead, transport, and unload residents
Must be able to communicate and function in and interdisciplinary team
Must be able to demonstrate excellent people skills and organizational skills
Must be well groomed (i.e., no unruly beards, no visible facial rings / piercings, tattoos)
Perform all other duties, as assigned
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Google and Microsoft operating system platforms
Administrative and clerical procedures; customer service
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent
Must be insurable by company policy
Prior experience in healthcare or geriatrics preferred but not necessary
On-the-job training provided
JOB TRAINING: How long it usually takes to completely perform this job when the incumbent has the minimum knowledge, skills, ability, work experience and/or education: up to 3 months
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works primarily in vehicle as well as throughout facility (i.e., activities room, residents' rooms)
Involved with residents, associates, and staff under all conditions and circumstances
Subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, associates, etc
May be assigned to other appropriate positions as necessary
Works beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, when necessary
Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)
Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants
Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses
May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move intermittently during working hours
Must be able to lift 50 lbs floor to waist, lift 10 lbs waist to shoulder, lift and carry 50 lbs, and push/pull 50 lbs
OTHER: Must maintain a valid, unrestricted Colorado driver's license
