Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Maximize utilization of Centralized Maintenance Management Software Hotsos.
Planning, Delegation and Execution of routine maintenance including fire life, safety, health, energy and all additional prescribed procedures by the company and OSHA.
Planning and delegation of Corrective maintenance.
Assist in onboarding of new colleagues; interview process and ongoing training program.
Collaborate with other disciplines throughout The Post Oak.
Adhere to company procurement procedures.
Maximize usage of Energy Management System.
Communicate on a regular basis regarding the specific and overall condition of the facility offering prudent alternatives, and cost effective and proposals. Access and input information into a computer and generate reports.
Support the team hands-on throughout the facility.
Keep records and technical data well organized. Must have basic knowledge of building codes.
Actively train in fire prevention, environmental health and safety, and engineering systems. Attend all meetings regarding hotel operations: department, fire, safety, health, quality improvement.
Prepare colleagues needs/engagement action plan.
Oversee water treatment programs.
Attend morning walk arounds as required.
Physical Demands
Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature generally is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F), possibly for one hour or more.
Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 5 hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
The worker is subject to noise: there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the surrounding noise level.
The worker is subject to vibration: exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
The worker is subject to hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions: one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation.
The worker is subject to oils: there is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks occasionally.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near and color vision and depth perception.
Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary tools and equipment. Must be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.
Education
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :
High school or equivalent education required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Having knowledge of or experience with Forbes 5 Star service standards is a plus.
Three to five years in a major hotel, hospital, or building, one year of which was in a supervisory capacity.
Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.
