Job Description
The Information Security Manager exercises supervision over full-time and / or part-time staff. Work is reviewed and measured through conferences, reports, and analyses, observation of productivity, effectiveness, customer service standards, and levels of success based on agreed-to and established goals. They are expected to review, test and apply security controls and safeguards to industry regulations (e.g., HIPPA, PCI, etc.) as they apply to IT equipment and systems. They will also take appropriate safeguards to protect computer applications from inappropriate access based on industry security standards and in accordance with IT department guidelines and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Requires a college degree or equivalent
Two (2) or more year's previous experience managing and supervising technical employees. Must possess strong working knowledge and experience in IT Security and Network Security systems and practices.
Five (5) or more years experience directly involved in IT Security and Network Security roles. Including experience in security policy development, security education, network penetration testing, application vulnerability assessments, risk analysis and compliance testing.
Knowledge of information security standards (e.g., ISO 17799/27002, etc.), rules and regulations related to information security and data confidentiality (e.g., HIPAA, PCI, etc.) and desktop, server, application, database, network security principles for risk identification and analysis.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications: College degree with a technical concentration
Security certifications preferred (e.g. CISSP, CEH, CCNA, CCNP) or any equivalent combination of certification, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
