Job Description Job Description Description Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is hiring a licensed Project Engineer for our New Orleans, LA office or possible Hybrid/Flex schedule to provide quality planning, design and technical assistance to the Discipline Manager and other members of the design team in delivering projects within budgetary and time constraints. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of five to six years of related design experience, and knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations required. One to two years of coordination/supervisory experience preferred.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include Responsibilities: Performs engineering analysis and design (2D and 3D) for roadways, intersections, and related infrastructure, including new construction and rehabilitation.

Performs design of pavement structures based on data resulting from geotechnical investigations.

Performs analysis and design of stormwater management facilities for roadway drainage.

Performs analysis and design of water distribution systems; water supply and treatment components; sanitary sewer systems and components; transmission, treatment, and disposal systems; POTWs and other projects.

Prepares construction plans, specifications, and contract documents for contracting and bidding of construction projects.

Conducts project status review with project manager and team members, checking accuracy of work completed, and monitors timeliness of project completion.

Prepares engineering studies and reports.

Provides technical guidance and training to members of the project team.

Prepares project design using sound engineering principles, engineering software and tools.

Assists Project Manager in assuring quality control procedures are performed.

Maintains responsibility for adherence to applicable codes.

What you'll need EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in engineering and must have a Professional Engineer license in Louisiana or able to obtain one within a reasonable timeframe.
