Clinical Director - Community Initiatives Program

Job Description

We're searching for a Clinical Director - Community Hospitals, someone who's ready to be part of the best ranked children's hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation. In this position, you will Provide accountability for clinical, administrative, and human resources activities for pediatric service lines and programs offered at the community-based partner hospitals. Ensure the delivery of high quality, cost effective, developmentally appropriate patient care in accordance with current standards of care and evidence-based practices.

Since 2003, the Texas Children's Hospital Community Initiatives program has provided neonatal, pediatric and maternal fetal medicine services to community hospitals.

Today, the program has expanded to include partnerships with 11 hospitals across Houston and surrounding areas, supporting our vision of Right Care, Right Place, Right Time.

Responsibilities:

Participate in service line planning and development of management agreements between various healthcare related institutions

Identify need for information including internal and external sources and provide accordingly

Assist with the development, implementation, and direct marketing for assigned initiatives

Participate on various hospital committees and partner hospitals to further enhance system policies and procedures, identify process issues, and implement the necessary changes

Report on status of current initiatives to executive and medical leadership as requested

Collaborate with hospital leaders, community hospital leaders, and community and hospital-based physicians to determine services appropriate for a community setting

Establish appropriate policies, procedures, and standards of care and practice based on current evidence

Conduct special projects as assigned by the Senior Vice President including initial assessment of project viability from a clinical/operations perspective, assisting with service line business planning and development, facilities planning, physician relations and practice development, and other priorities as identified

Assist community partner hospital NICUs with establishing neonatal Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) Program

Develop and maintain strong relationships with administration, faculty, clinical leaders, and direct reports

Ensure Joint Commission requirements specific to department are fulfilled and understand the linkage between department's requirements and those of the integrated delivery system

Collaborate with colleagues in other departments to ensure all Joint Commission requirements are met

Requirements: Required bachelor's degree Nursing and master's degree Nursing, Business, or Healthcare related field

Required RN - Lic-Registered Nurses by the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact

Required 5 years NICU nursing experience inclusive of three (3) years management/leadership experience
