FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Full-Time
SCHEDULE: Flex Friday (Mon-Thurs – 9/Friday 4 Remote)
EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: Salaried-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY: The W&T Offshore Senior Tax Advisor assists in the preparation of a multitude of tax related items including Federal and State tax income and Franchise tax compliance, tax provisions, related analyses and ASC 740.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare the monthly/quarterly/annual tax provisions/assist in analysis
Assist in the preparation of annual audited financial statements and related footnote disclosures
Assist in the preparation of federal and state income tax returns-provide support and data for external tax compliance preparers.
Research of tax issues and special projects as needed
Support tax audits
Annual tax preparation work papers for external tax preparers
Prepare return to accrual templates and assist in reconciliation of tax/book basis differences for ASC 740
Assist or prepare tax forecasts for planning and cash flow purposes
Prepare sales and use tax returns, property tax renditions and coordinate payments to various tax authorities
Reconciliations of property tax data, research and coordination with outside consultants as needed
Additional duties as assigned by management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 4 years’ experience either in public accounting and/or E&P industry experience with a solid tax technical background including a good working knowledge of the IRS code and regulations as they relate to the offshore E&P industry
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax, finance, or a related field
Strong understanding and experience with tax provision preparation and analysis including ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes
Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to research tax related issues and respond to tax questions from management and various internal users of data
PREFERRED QUALIFICAITONS:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
Partnership experience is preferred.
Experience with coordinating various external audits is a plus

Strong organizational and communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
