About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Philanthropy Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will be tasked with significantly increasing the organization's fundraising capacity, with a minimum goal of $1M in the first year. This role is pivotal in building new funding relationships, particularly with institutional donors, government and multilateral agencies, and corporations. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 7 years of progressive fundraising experience, a strong background in working with a variety of funders, and a proven track record in the philanthropic sector. Experience with international public and private sector funding sources, including USAID, UN agencies, and a background in Africa, preferably Ethiopia, is highly valued. The Chief Philanthropy Officer will be expected to work independently, yet collaboratively with the Board of Directors, and must be a passionate, proactive, and results-driven individual with excellent communication skills.Applicants for the Chief Philanthropy Officer position at the company should be prepared to demonstrate their ability to meet the demanding fundraising goals of the role. The role requires a candidate who is not only a seasoned fundraiser but also a relationship builder, door opener, and deal closer. The successful candidate will be part of a mission-driven organization and must share a deep commitment to improving the lives of individuals and the well-being of communities in Ethiopia and Africa.
