Our client, a global player in the field of cryogenic systems is looking for a Field Service Engineer due to its growing activities in the USA and Canada.
The company, a former division of Philips, is a leading supplier of medium-sized cryogenic systems in various diverse markets. They have more than 4,000 installed systems operational in more 50 countries.
This is a full-time, remote position, located in the Tri-State area (preferably within driving distance of Allentown, Pennsylvania )
Job Summary
As a Service Engineer, you will be involved in the installation and value added service of the cryogenics systems. These include:
General travel to and from customer sites
Repair and (preventive) maintenance of cryogenic installations including machines and controls.
Analyzing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems and, if necessary, communicating with the company’s engineering department for technical assistance
Writing service reports detailing the work completed and problems that were encountered and solved
The regular working territory of this position will be the USA and Canada. Occasionally you may also be requested to carry out work on installations in other parts of the world, primarily Europe.
Candidate Profile
Proven experience in a similar position with extensive nationwide travel
Self-Starter with a strong desire to meet and exceed goals
Strong problem solving skills
Ability to work independently using tools and resources to develop and adapt a plan to meet objectives
General knowledge of safety requirements related to OSHA, NEC, and Pressure Vessels
Customer and service oriented attitude
Proactive attitude, ‘go-getter’ who likes to take the lead
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
Ability to travel outside of the USA & Canada
Resides in the Eastern USA, preferably in the tri-state area within driving distance of Allentown Pennsylvania
Current Passport and Driver’s License
Comfortable working both from home and abroad
Qualifications:
Technical college or engineering degree preferred
At least 2 years of experience commissioning, performing maintenance, and troubleshooting mechanical/electronic systems or similar technology
The company will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training
Compensation
A starting standard pay rate of $37/hour to be paid monthly
Hourly overtime rate of 1.5 times base pay: $55.50
Overtime is considered as every hour over forty (40) in a week
Travel days are also payable for 10 hours fixed
