Our client, one of the largest primary and specialty care practices in New York, is hiring a Nurse Practitioner, Cardiology for their Queens location. Provide cardiovascular medicine and imaging to patients in collaboration with cardiology physicians. Join a team dedicated to top-notch care for cardiac patients.
Responsibilities:
Obtain and document patient history as appropriate to chief complaint or reason for visit.
Conduct relevant physical exam and evaluate patient, documenting pertinent findings.
Provide care for adult patients who have cardiovascular complaints and conditions.
Conduct and supervise cardiac diagnostic testing.
Order appropriate laboratory examinations or tests; interpret results.
Establish diagnosis of cardiovascular ailments and formulate a plan of treatment, as well as assess the patient's response to therapy
Diagnose and treat heart disease and manage chronic illness as part of a preventative maintenance program
Educate patients and their families with regard to cardiovascular condition prevention and maintenance.
Prescribe medication in accordance with New York State and federal law.
Collaborate with other clinicians and staff members to ensure continuity of care of patients.
Qualifications: Nurse Practitioner: Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN)
Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner education program registered by the New York State Education Department.
1+ years' experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner treating cardiovascular medical conditions.
Current Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from a New York State approved accrediting body - American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Current, unencumbered New York State Nursing (RN) license.
Active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
Strong communication skills both oral and written.
Ability to use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system and Microsoft Office
