Description for IT Project Manager II:
The IT Project Manager II plans, executes, and finalizes projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. Includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan and schedule. The Project Manager II defines project objectives and oversees quality control throughout project life cycles.
Responsibilities for IT Project Manager II:
• Develops project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
• Clarifies clients’ system specifications, understands their work practices and the nature of their business.
• Ensures resource availability and allocation.
• Develops a detailed project plan to track progress.
• Coordinates internal resources and third parties/vendors for execution of projects.
• Uses appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
• Measures project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
• Reports and escalates to management as needed.
• Liaises with staff at all levels of clients’ organization.
• Analyzes IT requirements and gives independent and objective advice on the use of IT.
• Develops agreed solutions and implements new systems.
• Presents solutions in written or oral reports.
• Designs, tests, installs, and monitors new systems.
• Is involved in sales and support, and where appropriate, maintains contact with client organizations.
• Identifies potential clients and builds and maintains contacts.
Requirements for IT Project Manager II:
• Bachelor’s degree in in project management, computer science, information technology, or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Strongly skilled in leadership and motivational techniques, as well as conflict-management.
• Requires demonstrable problem-solving project management experience and skills.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies such as DACI and best practices.
• Formal training and application of of project management processes, such as Scrum and Agile
• Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills.
• Possesses strong organizational, time management, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with cloud-based hosting platforms and version control tools.
Desired Experience for IT Project Manager II :
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
• Possession of PMI’s Agile Certified Practitioner certification
