Shipper - 1st Shift

The Shipper - 1st Shift will prepare items forshipment in accordance with shipping practices and requirements.Process orders to be shipped, arrangetransportation and maintain inventory of shipping materials. Assist with packaging as needed.

Key Tasks

Read, follow and process work orders via ElectronicDistribution of Orders (EDO) & order hard copies according to procedures ina timely fashion.

Process order through shipping software and ERP.

Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and toissue instructions for shipping.

Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge ofshipping procedures, routes, and rates.

Record shipment data, such as weight, and box size forrecordkeeping purposes.

Create proper shipping documents such as, Multibox sheets,Commercial invoices, Shippers letters of instructions, Bill of Laden's,

Answer emails and provide accurate shipping quotes forCS/Customers.

Examine contents and compare with order to verify accuracy ofoutgoing shipment.

Pack, seal, and label orders to prepare materials for shipping.

Communicate with supervisor problems, such as wrong zip codes,or order discrepancies.

Request, order and store shipping materials and supplies.

Follow and comply with all safety, work rules,regulations, ISO procedures, lean Initiatives and lean events.

Maintain departmental housekeeping standards. Maintain 5'SProgram.

Assist and Cross train in other departments, as needed, toensure products are completed on time.

Match products up to complete whole order via EDO'smatching shelf

MaintainKanban System and participate in cycle counts

Your Background Highschool diploma or equivalent.

Minimumof 1-2 years domestic and international shipping experience, manufacturingenvironment preferred.

Basicmath skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide and metric conversions).

Abilityto read a tape measure.

Abilityto read, write, and understand instruction detail written and communicated inEnglish.

Good oral and written communication skills inorder to interact with employees, logistic carriers, and supervisor.
