Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Bachelor's or higher in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related field
Minimum 2 years of experience post graduation at a company related to your field of study
Proficiency in Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Revit. Plan Grid is desirable
Photoshop, Illustrator, and Sketchup skills a plus
Technical knowledge of design and construction, materials, and methods
General understanding of State and Federal codes as they apply to design and construction
Understanding of accessibility standards, a plus
Preference given to architectural candidates with current progress towards AXP requirements/ARE exams and engineering candidates with EIT with progress towards PE
Strong ability to manage time and projects independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proofreading skills
Ability to present technical content to clients
Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity
Thrives working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Essential Functions
With professional guidance/mentorship, you will:
Assist in building evaluations of new construction projects (required travel throughout S.F. Bay Area)
Perform and document field observations for property and facility condition assessments of existing buildings and new construction (required travel throughout S.F. Bay Area)
Perform cost evaluations for building repairs and replacements
Perform plan reviews for general code compliance and adequacy of design, coordination, detailing, and building materials and systems
Write reports based on field observations and coordinate activities of team members
Assist in preparing architectural/engineering construction documents for repair of existing buildings

Candidates should have the ability to:
Move through construction and existing building sites over rough terrain
See and respond to dangerous situations
Respond quickly to sounds
Ascend and descend ladders and stairs
Move safely through confined spaces and narrow paths
Work in outdoor weather conditions or unconditioned areas
Operate a computer and other related office equipment, and possess visual acuity to read information from printed sources and computer screens
Lift up to 40 pounds (ex: ladders)
Travel approximately 25-50% of the time both in and out of state
