As the Manager, Software Engineering, you willdesign and develop new software by applying techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis that satisfies the objectives stated in business requirements. **What you’ll do on a typical day:**
+ Design and develop new software by applying techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis that satisfies the objectives stated in business requirements.
+ Collaborate with architects, systems engineers, project managers, systems administrators, and operations analysts to deploy and implement solutions, and troubleshoot technical issues.
+ Evaluate and select process and logic patterns, programming language constructs, data storage methods, and operating environment interfaces that effectively satisfy business
+ requirements and quantifiable measures; develop appropriate programs and systems documentation according to established department standards.
+ Evaluate new technologies for inclusion in developed software solutions; introduce new industry standards and techniques that deliver improved software solutions.
+ Strategize about product modifications or improvements as a result of customer feedback. People management, Meetings with business managers and stakeholders, Administrative tasks like time and budget evaluation, Project Management and Release Management.
+ Eligible for telecommuting from home within reasonable commuting distance from North Richland Hills, TX. Will require physical presence at worksite in North Richland Hills, TX at least several days a week.
**What you need to succeed at XPO:**
At a minimum, you’ll need:
+ Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology (IT), or closely related.
+ Five (5) years’ post Master’s progressive experience in all of the following:
+ Software design and development in Java rest services
+ IT software development methodologies for designing rest API
+ Implement IT projects for business efficiency.
+ Three (3) year’ post Master’s progressive experience in the following:
+ Training developers on software development best practices.
