The Denver City Attorney’s Office is one of the largest law firms in Colorado, with over 240 attorneys and staff members comprised of paralegals, victim advocates, and other support and supervisory staff members. What We Offer The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $70,765.00 - $116,762.00/year, based on education and experience. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which includes but is not limited to:

The Denver City’s Attorney’s Office is seeking our next Legal Administrator I for the DEN Legal section of the Department of Law. In this position, you will perform supervisory duties over our legal staff and office functional management.
Responsibilities Supervisory duties over our 2 legal assistants and 3 paralegals.
Provides support for staff activities such as: paralegal work, personnel, payroll, purchasing of office supplies and equipment, payment of office invoices, reception and information technology systems.
Works with the leadership team to discuss DEN Legal’s goals and objectives, create measurable steps to reach those goals, and work to implement the goals.
Collaborates with the client on various projects and assist client with requests from DEN Legal.
Performs a variety of functions including operational analysis, reporting and evaluation, information management, computer operations, and process improvement.
Plans, assigns, and evaluates the work of the staff members, provides technical paralegal expertise to staff, establishes and/or monitors current methods and policies, and recommends changes in practices and procedures to increase operating efficiency and expedite workflow.
Trains new staff members on the requirements of their specific positions, onboards new lawyers and staff with appropriate policies and procedures, and ensures that legal assistants’ and paralegals’ work performed appropriately.
Supports and implements implementation of policies and procedures developed by the leadership team.
Participates In hiring, discipline, promotion and evaluation of staff. This may include, but is not limited to, working with OHR to draft job descriptions, reviewing applications in Workday, setting up interviews and interviewing candidates, and advising the leadership team on all hiring, discipline and evaluation efforts.
Develops, plans and implements staff training and development. Coaches, mentors and leads staff in career development. Provides work instruction and assists employees with difficult and/or unusual paralegal assignments.
Develops or modifies work plans, methods and procedures, determines work priorities and provides input to work schedules to provide adequate staff coverage.
Develops performance goals, documents performance, provides performance feedback and formally evaluates the work of legal assistants and paralegals. Assists staff to achieve performance standards and identifies opportunities for improvementi. Drafts performance improvement plans as necessary.
Serve as a liaison to other City Attorney’s Office Sections.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

About You What You’ll Bring Our ideal candidate possesses the following capabilities. They do not need to be an expert in these areas, just a desire to learn and a proven track record of developing expertise.
Paralegal, legal secretary/assistant, office manager in a law office, or other legal experience.
Experience working in municipal law or airport law.
Experience working as a lead or supervisor.
Public service oriented.
Clear written/verbal communication and analytical skills.
Strong desire to learn and problem solve.
Team-player with both leadership and staff.
Strong Technical Ability. You will be using the following computer applications: MS-Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Adobe PRO,

Required Minimum Qualifications Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science or a related field.
Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of experience in a legal office performing administrative functions in the day-to-day operations of the organization.
Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
License and Certifications: Must be able to pass an initial pre-security clearance screening and maintain CBI (Colorado Bureau of Investigation) certification as a condition of employment. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
FBI Background Check: FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment.
