Description:
This is an opportunity to join the IERUS team as a Network Security Engineer supporting a large Missile Defense Agency program.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience and be responsible for, but not limited to: planning, deploying, integrating, and testing upgrades to the network and operational sites; independently researching different networking and security-related topics and producing reports on the findings; ensuring that the teams' devices are STIGs and hardened appropriately; running any and all Cyber protocols needed.
Required Qualifications:
B.S. or M.S. in a related discipline; Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
Security+ certification or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
Must be a US citizen with an active Secret clearance.
Must understand the OSI Model, TCP/IP, VLANs, and UDP Multicast.
Must have Juniper, Cisco, and Palo Alto firewall configuration knowledge.
Knowledge of ACL design and function.
Hands-on experience with multi-vendor switching/routing (Juniper, Cisco).
An effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.
Able to design security configurations and testing procedures.
Familiar with the NIST CVE framework.
Experience with virtualization.
Able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network and system engineers.
Intermediate knowledge of security design, development, and testing methodologies.
Experienced in the application of standard DOD security practices such as STIG compliance and system accreditation implementation efforts.
Able to thoroughly document project design and development efforts.
Able to collaborate with other departments to explain network security requirements and compliance.
Able to learn security hardening basics for a wide range of niche products, software, and applications.
Able to summarize, brief, and recommend solutions to security issues to leadership.
Understand the basics of VMware and ESXi STIGing/Hardening.
Desired Qualifications: Top Secret clearance desired.
Scripting knowledge of Python, Ansible, and PowerShell
Solid understanding of JUNOS
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
The proposed salary range for this position is $77.9k - $128.7k. Salaries are commensurate with candidate experience and qualifications within the experience bandwidth, as well as market and business considerations.
