**Requirements & Qualifications**
* Minimum 2 years experience in Hotel F&B Operations with a minimum of 5 years overall in high-level Restaurant Operations management
* Familiarity with P&L statements, experience in budgeting & forecasting
* Positive attitude and proven track record of developing successful interpersonal and interdepartmental relationships, as well as advanced written and verbal communication
* Ability to travel 2x monthly (at minimum) and on short notice + reliable transportation
* Experience using Toast POS, Resy, Tripleseat and R365 platform(s)
**Title:** Assistant Director of Operations, Hotel Ops
**Location:** Chicago Athletic Association- Chicago, IL / Thompson- Austin, TX
**Reports to:** LSD Director of Operations, LSD Directors & Partners
**Position Objective:** Our Director of Operations oversees multiple properties and supports the managers and chefs at each location. Their primary goal is to ensure our management team(s) have the tools and people they need to perform their jobs, as well as to ensure departmental and interpersonal communication is clear, concise, and without friction. The ideal candidate values culture-building within the organization as much as financial success and understands that people are our most valuable asset. Developing the future leaders of our organization and maintaining relationships with our Hotel partners is their utmost priority,
They will maintain the tone and vibe as directed by Land and Sea Dept.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities*:**
**Oversight of Staff and Management:**
>Hiring/Training:
* Ensure best practices for recruiting, hiring and developing employees that possess a positive attitude and values that align with our mission.
* Promote equal opportunity employment for minority candidates
* Ensure each property has and uses a Training Path and Training Manual for every position on the roster, constantly improve training materials to ensure great product and customer service experience
* Management hiring, training and development
* Develop a classroom environment for staff and schedule regular food, beverage, and service training led by department heads and guest speakers.
* Continuously find ways to improve the skills, knowledge and morale of all employees to maintain a fun, warm and contemporary culture
>Human Resources:
* Ensure managers are scheduling staff to meet the needs of the business and budget
* Serve as a representative for the company in HR related matters, disciplinary procedures and documentation
* Review chefs and managers annually, develop clear paths to advancement for each and every role; create a culture that promotes from within
* Set uniform standards and ensure accountability for uniform on-property
* Enforce all labor laws (federal, state and local)
>Management:
* Develop and oversee processes for maintaining Food and Beverage quality & consistency throughout all venues
* Oversee development of operational procedures for any and all relevant tasks (from nightly closing duties to ringing in a buyout)
* Ensure weekly manager meetings and quarterly all-staff meetings are carried out and effective in communicating goals and objectives
* Oversee evaluation for each employees performance based on clearly-communicated standards and expectations and hold all managers accountable for performance
* Serve as a role model and set a positive example for the entire team in all aspects of business and personnel management
* Manage the venues and outlets as necessary; offering support and presence to allow for Managers to take vacation and fill-in during peak periods, high-compression dates, and holidays.
**Oversight of Sales and Profitability**
* Ownership of the propertys P&L, work with Director of Operations, Director of Finance and LSD Partners to improve performance
* Cultivate partnerships with our vendors and develop plans for sponsorship (in coordination with LSD Beverage Director and Director of Events & Partnerships)
* Meet with Events Director(s) & Programming Director(s) regularly to discuss goals, procedures and event execution
**Liaison to our Hotel Partners**
* Provide a direct line of contact to Leadership Committee members at both Chicago Athletic Association and Thompson Austin
* Accept and deliver timely on special projects as assigned by our Hotel partners
* Align Land and Sea Dept venues with property-wide directives and SOPs
* Develop relationships that achieve symbiotic goals, while maintaining and protecting LSDs identity and values
*May perform other job duties as they arise
*Must be able to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods of time
