We are seeking a Compliance Manager with experience in the jewelry/watch industry, well-versed in legal and testing requirements for manufacturers.
This role is 5 days a week out of our NYC offices located at 1400 Broadway.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with sales and design teams during product development for diverse clientele and global markets to determine relevant testing, product performance, and compliance guidelines.
Evaluate customer-provided directives and vendor guidelines for each product design, advising product development on necessary testing and compliance specifications.
Coordinate post-sale by drafting detailed communications to suppliers outlining all product requirements and testing protocols.
Establish and manage testing timelines, ensuring timely initiation either through suppliers or domestic facilities as per product requirements.
Review all testing outcomes; work with suppliers and product development to address warnings or failures, exploring corrective actions or waivers as necessary.
Regularly review vendor guidelines for key customers and products, creating concise reference documents for designers and manufacturing teams.
Maintain expertise in international requirements and evolving federal laws pertaining to packaging labels, ensuring compliance and proactively addressing regulatory changes.
Liaise with external agencies like MTS for label and packaging reviews to guarantee adherence to local laws and standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Minimum 7-10+ years of experience in trade regulations and testing standards within jewelry/watches or related accessories.
Strong communication, time management, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills, with strategic and critical thinking abilities.
Willingness to travel overseas when required.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, collaborating effectively across various disciplines to meet deadlines and priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, and advanced Excel skills.
This role requires a background in compliance review, laboratory document assessment, and packaging compliance within a regulated industry.
Salary up to $135k
