Schedule: Monday – Friday, Weekends as required

Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

In the role of Vice President (VP) of Engineering, responsibilities will involve the Audio Visual (AV) Line of Business (LOB) supporting RavenTek’s partners and clients in the DoD & Civilian territory throughout the United States including, but not limited to device configuration, third party OEM business relationships, procurement strategies, client pricing & quotes, third party installation evaluation & operational oversight (ensuring Best Practices are leveraged by sub-contractors), remote site surveys, etc. If warranted, establish, and lead an AV support team to manage our existing installations and future prospects.

The position will also assist the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the Project Management Office (PMO) with IT resource allocation, Design Build Project implementation, managing project schedules, and overseeing project/program/task assignments to completion as well the AV responsibilities listed above. Additionally, the VP of Engineering will ensure that engineering activities and projects align with our client’s organization’s established policies and objectives, emphasizing on-time and on-budget completion of engineering tasks and internal R&D projects. Other responsibilities will include collaborating with the engineering team(s) to establish goals, plan projects, create timelines, and ensure adherence to budgets. The VP of Engineering will also develop new internal processes with the RavenTek IT department and PMO that will streamline operations and increase margins and overall PMO effectiveness.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

AV engineering quoting, planning, developing, designing, testing, and assisting in control system code and audio files, and other equipment-related configurations.

Performing in-house testing and on-site commissioning at client locations.

Working with OEM vendors on repair of equipment.

Creating technical standards, processes, and procedures.

Overseeing the installation of control programs and touch panel design onsite, offsite, and remotely in physical systems.

Ensuring programming meets system requirements and capabilities.

Providing training and user manuals to onsite personnel for installed programs.

Traveling to various job sites as needed.

Providing training and technical leadership for upcoming initiatives and requirements.

Fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the assigned engineering and project teams.

Implementing best practice engineering methods to offer expert technical guidance for initiatives.

Managing relationship dynamics within the internal engineering team, providing escalation and feedback to both the Executive Management Team and Sales Leadership.

Overseeing the successful execution of both internal and external projects crucial to the company’s expansion and mission.

Building, leading, and growing high performing teams in the development and rapid delivery of next-generation IT platforms and products.

Prioritizing staffing needs to ensure project coverage and technical requirements.

Managing projects and employees, to include teams on government and commercial contracts.

Submitting MSRs as required by manager (weekly, monthly, etc.).

Completing required compliance training as assigned.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, And Critical Skills

Proven experience managing complex technical projects and programs.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to build and maintain a collaborative team environment.

Ability to work closely with Executive Management and clients to align project goals with business objectives.

Ability to review and comprehend technical requirements.

Knowledgeable in control system design (Creston/Extron/AMX).

Proficient in uploading and downloading software in embedded systems.

Knowledgeable in programming languages for AV Systems.

Proficient in system design using AutoCAD or Visio.

Proficient with test and calibration equipment.

Hands-on experience with control systems, videoconferencing, switching hardware, audio DSP setup, and calibration.

Ability to multitask, work independently, and handle multiple projects at once.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly with customer focus.

Education & Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree or 10 years additional relevant experience in lieu of degree.

Minimum of 5 years of Creston, Extron, or AMX control system programming experience.

Certifications, Licenses

Extron Certifications preferred.

Creston Certifications preferred.

AMX Certifications preferred.

CTS or CTS-D Certifications preferred.

Special Requirements

Ability to obtain up to a Top Secret/SCI.

Work Environment

Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.

Physical Demands

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. The ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb will be required for this position. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 40 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
