LHH is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a medical device manufacturing client in Indianapolis, IN. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $75,000-83,000 per year and includes several medical insurance options, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop effective manufacturing processes by evaluating product requirements and designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment to ensure desired results
Improve ergonomics, design machine layouts and assist with installations, improve process flow, etc.
Write work instructions and train employees how to work more efficiently
Complete capital projects and process improvement projects
Identify and resolve process operating problems, investigate equipment failures, draft follow-up action reports, and share technical assistance with workers on the floor
Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues during manufacturing process
Coordinate with operations and management personnel to develop a shared vision for the completion of daily tasks and then report on those activities
Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering staff as well as outside contractors to improve equipment care, services, repairs, and work practice
Monitor and improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow while optimizing space and equipment layout
Identify new and creative solutions to resolve complex issues during the manufacturing process
Handle additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor Degree in Engineering is required
Minimum of three years of engineering experience within a manufacturing setting is required
Ideal candidates will have experience within a regulated environment such as medical device, aerospace, automotive, etc.
Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or possession of a Six Sigma Belt is preferred
Must have experience working on the production floor with various types of manufacturing equipment
Must possess the ability to read blueprints
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
Must possess strong analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills
Must be a highly motivated, self-starter who is able to succeed with little supervision
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively work as part of a cross-functional team
