Non-Profit Director of Development

Job Description

Gpac has partnered with an amazing and thriving faith-based Non-Profit in the San Francisco area looking to add a Director of Development to their team. My name is Chase, and I am a search consultant at gpac.

This position is fully on-site, Monday- Friday.

Overview

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this professional must have a proven track record (a minimum of 5-7 years) in identifying, cultivating, and stewarding donors, and designing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes major gifts, foundations, digital fundraising, and events. The Director of Development will support members of the Board regarding their fundraising responsibilities.

Responsibilities

- Design and implement fundraising goals and plans; monitor progress; and assess and adjust strategies, as needed.

- Create and manage a portfolio of major donors and foundations in partnership with the COO.

- Manage/supervise the activities of the Communications and Development Manager.

- Oversee research for prospective donors, including identification of individuals and foundation prospects.

- Design and implement a moves management protocol for major donors including projections, stewardship strategies, cultivation of relationships with current, lapsed and prospective donors.

- Develop and implement an events strategy to acquire new donors and engage current donors.

- Develop and maintain systems to manage and track all donor data.

- With the executive team, shape the framing and messaging of the organization’s story and impact and make the support case.

- Develop and implement a digital fundraising program.

- Prepare fundraising reports, budgets, and other documents.

- Promote a culture of philanthropy and appreciation.

Requirements and Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree

- Preference is given to candidates with 5 or more years of relevant experience.

- Demonstrated success in accurately projecting, managing, and meeting fundraising goals.

- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Able to work independently and as part of a team.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and donor management software (Donor Perfect and Salesforce.)

- Ability to thrive in a small team.

- Experience with moves management, donor engagement tools (CRMs), outreach to donors, event management, securing meetings, and soliciting gifts.
