As a  Compliance Investigator  within the Office of Inspector General at the Georgia Department of Public Health , you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Applicant preferably living in one of the following counties: Chatham, Bryan, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Bulloch, Evans or Tombs.   Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas.

Assists in developing and administering policies, procedures, and plans.

Assists in preparing comprehensive and detailed reports of investigation.

Conducts investigations to ascertain facts and obtain evidence on alleged violations and misconduct; interviews witnesses and obtains statements.

Monitors compliance with terms of licensure.

Compiles and prepares summary reports, maintains case files and documentation of case resolutions, and tracking data for legal requirements.

Conducts WIC Vendor Monitoring visits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Investigates complaints of frauds of abuse.

Conducts WIC Vendor background investigations.

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university

OR

Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND  One year of related experience

OR

High school diploma or GED AND  Two years of related experience.

Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license. Georgia Department of Public Health Commissioner and  leaders encourages all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and well-being.

The use of wellness breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and assist employees in meeting their wellness goals.  A maximum of 30 minutes in a given workday may be used to engage in wellness activities, generally in the form of two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break.

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.
