**Job Id:** 466 **# of Openings:** 1 **POSITION PURPOSE**
The CDL Transportation Driver provides residents with safe and efficient transportation in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations, as well as established facility policies and procedures. Secondary functions of the position are to perform assigned clerical duties and assist activity staff as time allows. **POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

Schedule/coordinate resident appointments/transportation according to established procedures and bill and collect money from residents for services; maintain accurate appointment books and complete and submit pre- and post-trip forms/reports as needed. Route trips and follow directions efficiently and effectively; drive carefully, observing safety rules as well as traffic laws; report all incidents and accidents immediately to the department head. Provide transportation for Village errands and for outings scheduled by Licensed Area Activities/Special Events staff and assist with residents as needed. Communicate equipment/supply needs and vehicle problems/malfunctions to the department head or Executive Director. Arrange for periodic washing of vehicles as needed. Help the Health Center, Nursing Department, and other departments transport residents by wheelchair to and from the Health Center or within the Health Center (e.g., to the beauty shop, activities, doctor's appointments, etc.) when schedule allows. Assist the Licensed Area Activity staff with one-on-one interaction with residents (e.g., walking, reading, visiting, etc.) when schedule allows. Perform clerical duties as assigned. **OTHER FUNCTIONS**
Attend meetings and participate in committees as requested. Attend and participate in workshops and seminars to stay current with training in resident transfers, wheelchair maneuvering, and proper body mechanics, as well as to maintain a professional status. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as directed. **EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE**
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience. High school diploma or GED preferred. Must possess a commercial drivers license for Indiana Interstate and Intrastate for buses.
