The Medical Director is accountable to the ChiefOperating Office and the VP of Behavioral Health and Recovery Services,and is responsible for providing supervision, support, training andquality oversight of assigned programs. Duties and Responsibilities:Reviewing health care law and regulations applicable to mental healthand substance use Directs and supervises the work of the clinical andmedical team including physicians, advanced practice nurse andregistered nurses Utilizing healthcare law and regulations to formulatedivision and agency specific policy and procedures Promotes use ofevidence-based practices by medical staff and ensure medical servicesmeet regulatory agencies and accrediting organizations standardsLiaising with medical and non medical departments and enchancingrelationship with vendors Applies clinical and administrative skills toguide the programs in providing high level care Participates in RiskReview Meetings and Adverse Event Reviews as needed Reviewed medicaldata to identify areas for improvement and participate in thedevelopment of clinical programs Provides direct services to childrenand adults Supports and implements agency strategic initiative includingthe expansion of medication assisted treatment Minimum Qualifications:MD/DO required and board certification/board eligibility in psychiatryAt least five years of professional experience in the mental health orhuman services fields required with at least three years at asupervisory level.
