Estimator - Top Midwest General Contractor

You will play a key role in the pre-construction phase, analyzing project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates. You will work closely with the team to ensure that bids are competitive while maintaining profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction estimating, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment

They specialize in the Commercial space and are in need of an experienced Commercial Estimator to join their growing team.
Description
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
* Explore specification/drawing documentation in order to gain a understanding of the project requirements
* Develop estimates and bids for construction projects
* Visit sites necessary to do the estimate
* Perform complex analysis of collected data to provide customer's solutions
* Build and maintain long-term relationships with the key clientele and/or general contractor
* Work with the sales team to prepare proposals
* Assist in competitively procuring material; perform a detailed review of the bids received to enable the buyout of the project at or below the amount(s) in the original estimate
* Attend all required company meetings
* Represent the company in a professional manner
* Comply with all company policies and procedures
* Support the company's safety policy
* Maintain confidentiality of company and client information
Profile
* Five years of applicable construction experience
* Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field from an accredited institution of higher learning is preferred, although not required
* Possess an OSHA 10 certification or ability to obtain
* Complete successful drug, MVR, and background screenings
* Willing to accept responsibility to acquire specialized training and continued education
* Strong knowledge of roof assemblies, application and design preferred
* Able to read, understand, and navigate through blueprints
