Gyn and Head & Neck Radiation Oncologist

Stanford, CA, United States

The Division of Radiation Therapy in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Stanford University seeks a board eligible or board-certified radiation oncologist to join the Department as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Clinician Educator line. We are particularly interested in candidates who have interest and experience with gynecologic brachytherapy and also interest in head & neck radiation oncology.

The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Individuals appointed as Clinical Assistant Professors should have demonstrated exceptional qualities and promise to become outstanding clinicians, teachers, institutional leaders, and/or scholars. If these individuals have not had formal teaching experience, they should have demonstrated a commitment to develop the skills necessary for outstanding teaching. They must have demonstrated excellence or promise of excellence in a combination of clinical performance, teaching, administration and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need upon which the appointment will be based.

The successful applicant should have their MD, completed their residency in an ACGME-accredited program, and have medical licensure in California by their start date. Demonstrated clinical experience, especially in the area of gynecological malignancies and brachytherapy is expected. Experience in multi-modality treatment planning (e.g., PET, 4D CT, MRI), image guided radiotherapy (IGRT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), as well as clinical research, is desired. It is anticipated that the successful faculty candidate will be an outstanding clinician, excellent clinical researcher, and committed teacher.

The activities of the Department are diverse and include a strong basic science and translational research program. The Department is tightly integrated into the medical school and university, with many opportunities for collaborative research within the Stanford Cancer Institute, a National Cancer Institute Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Applications will be reviewed beginning April 1 st and accepted until the position is filled.

The Radiation Oncology Department, School of Medicine, and Stanford University value faculty who will help foster an inclusive academic environment for colleagues, students, and staff with a wide range of backgrounds, identities, and outlooks.
