RN/LPN Crisis Specialist (Psychiatric)

Job Description Job Description Position Overview : A MMPS provides behavioral health crisis intervention and prevention services to adults, adolescents and children in an age appropriate and culturally competent manner. MMPS’ use specialized clinical and/or medical techniques to manage persons exhibiting behavioral or mental health challenges in a variety of community settings. An MMPS will:
Administer medications prescribed verbally by an on-call psychiatrist.
Perform medical, clinical, or mental health assessments & evaluations as necessary.
Work with first responders in emergency situations involving behavioral health clients, to determine need for psychiatric consults, on-site interventions and applications for commitments.
Provide crisis intervention in atypical settings i.e.- schools, temporary or transient placement homes while cofacilitating with partner agencies (i.e.- PSD, OSH, DHS, PCA)
Provide family intervention in clients’ homes in emergency situations.
Make recommendations on treatment planning and client disposition with the guidance of the Mental Health Emergency Services Coordinator.

Have in-depth familiarity with the behavioral health system, and can interface with all levels & agents in the system.
Required Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nursing program and currently certified/licensed in the state of Pennsylvania
Experience in crisis prevention/intervention in psychiatric emergency services, family counseling, inpatient treatment or as part of a Mobile Emergency Team.
Possess a valid, state-issued driver’s license.
