The Neurosurgery Department within the School of Medicine of theLSUHealth Sciences Center in New Orleans is seeking applicants for a Neurointensivist. Appointment will be at the academic rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (non-tenure, clinical track) with rank determined by the candidate’s credentials and experience. The anticipated primary site of clinical practice will be our Neurocritical Care Units at University Medical Center New Orleans, a Level One Trauma Center and West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, LA outside of New Orleans, a medical center ofLCMCHealth with 419 licensed inpatient beds, outpatient services, as well as the system’s only Comprehensive Stroke Certification Center. Responsibilities include the development of and expansion of a Neurological Intensive Care; providing clinical services, supervision of Neurosurgery and Neurology residents, as well as shared call. Other activities include participation in medical student education, resident selection and evaluation, as well as involvement in clinically relevant research and scholarship.
