Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze construction plans, specifications, and project requirements to develop comprehensive cost estimates
Gather and analyze data on material costs, labor rates, equipment expenses, and subcontractor quotes
Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including line-item estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to refine estimates and address any discrepancies
Maintain a database of historical cost data and industry trends to improve the accuracy of future estimates
Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations to clients
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and recommend alternative methods or materials
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role
Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and blueprints
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
Strong mathematical and budgeting skills, with the ability to perform complex calculations
Proficient in using construction estimating software (e.g., Sage Estimating, Bluebeam Revu, etc.)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry best practices
