** This position can be based in any of our Texas offices.

As a member of CDM Smith's esteemed team, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission by contributing to a diverse range of transportation-related projects. Your expertise will enhance our capabilities in transportation systems planning, travel demand forecasting, traffic analysis, safety analysis, traffic engineering, and transportation policy.

Key Responsibilities

**1. Transportation Systems and Policy:**

- Engage in comprehensive transportation systems planning, encompassing travel demand forecasting and traffic analysis.

- Contribute to the development and implementation of transportation policies that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

**2. Safety Analysis and Performance:**

- Conduct in-depth safety analyses, including systemic safety evaluations.

- Develop and apply crash modification factors and safety performance functions to enhance transportation safety.

**3. Subject Matter Expertise:**

- Serve as a subject matter expert on complex and high-impact projects, addressing unique or controversial issues that significantly affect major CDM Smith programs.

- Devise innovative solutions to challenging problems, coordinating various technical aspects of the work to ensure project success.

**4. Technical Leadership and Project Management:**

- Lead multidisciplinary teams as a project technical leader on multiple projects, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to project timelines and budgets.

- Provide strategic direction and oversight, fostering collaboration and high performance within project teams.

**5. Mentorship and Staff Development:**

- Serve as a mentor for junior-level employees, guiding their professional growth and technical development.

- Act as a recognized leader among technical and professional staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

-Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.

-Professional engineering (PE) license.

-7 years of related experience.

-Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

-Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Proven experience in transportation systems planning, traffic analysis, and safety analysis.

- Demonstrated ability to develop crash modification factors and safety performance functions.

- Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of devising innovative solutions to complex issues.

- Experience leading technical teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

- Excellent communication and mentorship skills, with a commitment to developing junior staff.

-Experience with traffic operations, managed lanes concept development, corridor planning, and environmental process exposure.

-VISSIM software experience.

-Ability to develop concepts/schematics.

-Knowledge of TP&P/TxDOT processes.

-Knowledge of data analytics and statistical analysis.

-AICP, RSP, and/or PTOE are a plus.

**Background Check and Drug Testing Information:**
