Job Description
*** Selected candidate must reside within two (2) hours of Client's Headquarters in Woodlawn, MD
*** Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site at least 2 days a week.
**Must provide a digital portfolio of design work for review.**
Position Description:
Derive business processes, analyze user needs, assist in requirements definition, design browser-based interfaces, and design and conduct usability testing
Interact on a daily basis with the development team on the creation of new web components for the design system
Elicit business goals and user needs from stakeholders
Creation of anatomy diagrams for new UI elements (in the form of web components)
Support the creation and maintenance for design toolkits in the latest design tools (Figma, Axure 10, XD, etc) used by the UX Design Team
Support the continuation of design token integration with the design system
Facilitate customer discovery sessions
Create and refine screen prototypes
Document user requirements, screen designs, and design recommendations
Key Required Skills: Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles documenting user requirements user needs; Interaction/Interface design exp utilizing user-centered methods; front-end development utilizing HTML/CSS/Javascript; exp preparing/presenting findings in group
Requirements
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience.
Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis
Minimum of 8 years of direct Interaction/Interface design experience in User-Centered Methods and User Analysis
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

Minimum of 8 years of experience documenting user requirements, screen designs, and design recommendations
Minimum of 4 years of experience preparing and presenting findings and recommendations in small and large group settings
Minimum of 2 years of experience front-end development of applications utilizing HTML/CSS/Javascript
Experience using Axure RP prototyping software (preferably Axure 10)
Experience with Figma prototyping software
Must provide a digital portfolio of design work for review
Desired Skills Experience supporting the creation and/or maintenance of a design system
Experience working with design tokens
Experience with StencilJS and/or web component creation
Experience with Git/GitHub for version control and repo management
Experience in designing and conducting formative usability tests in both formal and informal settings
Experience with Pega and/or ServiceNow platforms
Experience with the Agile/Scrum methodology
Prior experience supporting government agencies
Understanding of Section 508 and its requirements regarding design
Hold additional UX Certifications such as UX Master Certification (NN/g) or UX Design Immersive (General Assembly)
