We are seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to join our logistics team. The Driver will be responsible for transporting goods and passengers in a safe and timely manner, adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, strong customer service skills, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods and passengers to specified destinations.
Follow all DOT regulations and company policies, including hours of service, vehicle inspections, and safety protocols.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and deliveries using electronic logging devices (ELDs) as required by DOT regulations.
Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is properly secured and protected from damage.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members.
Report any accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle issues to the appropriate personnel immediately.
Provide excellent customer service, addressing any concerns or questions from customers professionally and promptly.
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, ensuring the safety of passengers and goods.
Assist with general maintenance and cleanliness of the vehicle.
A team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license - non CDL with a clean driving record.
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a professional driver.
Must meet all DOT requirements, including a valid DOT medical card.
Ability to pass a DOT drug and alcohol test.
Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 100 lbs.
Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation systems.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
Ability to perform physical activities such as loading and unloading cargo.
Visual acuity to operate a vehicle and read road signs and navigation systems.
Manual dexterity for operating vehicle controls and equipment.
