POSITION SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Coordinator ensures smooth warehouse operations by providing support to the branch sales, warehouse operations, and dispatch teams. This position interacts with individuals throughout the company to resolve any matters regarding the receipt of materials. This is a labor-intensive position that requires heavy lifting. Individuals are regularly on their feet throughout the day and may work at heights as required. Safety is a priority.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

DISPATCH:

+ Responsible for taking calls and managing the schedule of trucks on the daily receiving board.

+ Will coordinate for a helper to assist the primary driver as necessary dependent on scheduled deliveries and route.

+ Responsible for providing professional and timely communication to OrePac customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged products. Responsible for arranging pick-up and return of material.

+ Communicate with drivers to resolve delivery issues.

PRODUCTION SCHEDULING:

+ Review printed work orders from BisTrack to ensure accuracy and work with sales to make appropriate changes as needed.

+ Organize and distribute work orders to correct personnel.

INVENTORY & QUALITY CONTROL:

+ Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.

+ Ensure all material is received in a timely manner and in compliance with branch Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Provide timely responses and assistance to inquiries from other individuals regarding orders received to resolve any outstanding issues or discrepancies.

+ Investigate, support and resolve system errors.

+ Conduct employee training on proper system processes focused on operational efficiency, inventory, and order entry accuracy as related to office functions.

+ Manage and assist root cause analysis with lost item inventory list

+ Upload, move, and store a variety of materials, parts, and products. Sort and place materials and items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.

+ Use an RF gun to fill orders from storage areas and warehouse stock and deliver to designated department or to shipping preparation area.

+ Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to packing station or shipping department.

SAFETY:

+ Work to maintain a safe and clean environment while achieving department productivity goals. Engage in safe work practices and adhere to OrePac’s established safety program and policies at all times.

+ Provide assistance to operations management in conducting safety training and observations. Participate in incident investigations to determine root cause.

+ Forklift duties may be assigned to this position. Any assigned forklift duties will first require taking and passing a forklift training course and obtaining a certificate. Forklift duties will include staging and/or stacking material neatly and safely, operating the forklift in a safe manner, filling the forklift with propane fuel, and regularly checking the forklift fluid levels.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

+ Exceptional written communication skills, including the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

+ Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

+ Demonstrated ability in using independent judgement in determining how to approach and solve problems. Ability to problem solve minor challenges within the department utilizing the tools and resources available and escalate the matter to a supervisor or manager when appropriate.

+ Ability to think through multiple alternatives and potential consequences to determine the best outcome.

+ Ability to perform as a team player and interact with all management and support personnel levels.

+ Strong communication skills. Comfortable engaging and leading individual and team discussions and meetings. Ability to articulate direction and expectations to teammates in a clear and concise manner.

+ Ability to re-prioritize as necessary throughout the day with minimal supervision and effectively communicate changes with the team.

+ Must be flexible and ready to adapt within a fast-paced working environment within a team or individually while achieving quality and timely completion of assigned tasks to achieve customer satisfaction.

+ Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.

+ Ability to adhere to all facets of safety policies and procedures, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated by OrePac’s safety program. Ability to perform all essential responsibilities of the job in a safe manner.

+ Ability to compute basic math problems to include addition, subtraction, and multiplication.

+ Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

+ Mechanical aptitude. Experience with hand tools, power tools, and the ability to read a tape measure.

+ Professional demeanor in representing the organization, and generally be friendly and confident.

+ Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions.

+ Strong multi-tasking skills.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

+ High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

+ At least 1 year of related experience in a warehouse environment (preferred).

+ Any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be accepted in place of the education and/or experience requirements listed for this role.
