Data Entry Specialist The Government Services department focuses on data verification for particular federal, state and county agencies who determine eligibility for publicly funded programs. A Data Entry Specialist completes data entry from mailed and faxed forms provided by financial institutions within our local office setting . This data entry includes account information and balance information. Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities: This position is not remote and must be able to work out of the office full-time in Evanston, Illinois.
Meet productivity and quality requirements entering financial and account balance data provided by financial institutions.
Maintain detailed required records in the completion of data entry tasks.
Must be able to meet all deadlines including processing data within the same day of receipt. There are strict service level agreements that must be met on a daily basis.
Must be able to rename and split large files within minutes of receiving, after training completed.
Must operate an envelope inserter for daily mail and other mail equipment without assistance, after training completed.
Must be able to efficiently sort a large amount of incoming mail and separate by type of data, after training completed.
Must follow-up with financial institutions on requests with missing account information within the same day of receipt. Must be comfortable speaking on the phone, if necessary.
May need to pick up mail from the Post Office down the street and return back to the office for processing.
Additional department responsibilities as required.
Required Skills and Experience: College Degree preferred. High School diploma required.
Microsoft Suite skills. Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills required.
10 key must be at least 180 characters per minutes. A test will be given during the interview.
Word per minute must be at least 50 wpm and a words per minute test will be given during the interview.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to the highest quality of performance.
Critical thinking. Must be able to objectively analyze information and apply correct conclusions.
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines with the ability to work overtime, when approved.
Self-motivated, reliable; must be able to work independently as well as in a team.
Able to multi-task with no loss in productivity.
Able to adapt to new environments, adjust to situations or demands, and function effectively with a minimum of confusion or loss in productivity.
Must be able to obtain contract-specific security clearance as a condition of employment and continued employment.
Must be able to work some company holidays with compensation (day after Independence Day, day after Thanksgiving, etc.).
