Development Director (Focus on strategy, stewardship, and operations over front-line fundraising) Global Civil Liberties Nonprofit New York City ( Hybrid )
Salary: $100,000 to $125,000 per year, based on experience Terrific Development Director position with a highly regarded nonprofit that strives to promote and protect civil liberties globally. This is a strategic role, integral in ensuring the effective and efficient operations of the development department. This position will focus on strategy, stewardship, and operations as opposed to frontline fundraising. Specific responsibilities will include developing and setting fundraising strategies and goals, establishing processes and procedures to ensure the effective stewardship of donors, overseeing the moves management process for a portfolio of grants, and collaborating with the Communications team for various marketing efforts. The Development Director will collaborate with colleagues at all levels, while managing and mentoring a team of three. Qualified candidates will have 5+ years of relevant experience. Bachelor's degree is required. Candidates with experience in civil liberties, human rights, international development, or a related field are preferred. The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $125,000 per year, based on experience. This position is based in New York City and currently operates on a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the moves management strategy for all donors and prospects
Set and manage fundraising strategy, goals, and KPIs
Ensure proper relationship management for all donors
Establish an effective outreach and stewardship strategy
Manage the full lifecycle of the grant proposal process, including post award reporting
Oversee all data management processes with the CRM
Leverage donor reporting to ensure goals are met
Manage and mentor a team of 3
Qualifications: 5+ of years relevant fundraising experience
Bachelor's degree required
Ability to work in a highly collaborative organization
Prior experience with an organization focused on civil liberties, international development, or human rights
Willingness to travel
Experience with a donor CRM
Prior fundraising experience a plus
