Role & Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Underwriting department
Provide strategic direction and guidance to the team
Develop and implement underwriting policies and procedures
Evaluate risk factors and determine appropriate coverage and premium rates
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Maintain strong relationships with brokers and other stakeholders
Resolve complex underwriting issues and provide expert advice
Coach and mentor team members to enhance their skills and performance
Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for business growth
Key Skills
Previous experience in underwriting within the insurance industry
Strong leadership and people management skills
Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities
Sound knowledge of insurance products, processes, and regulations
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Proven track record in driving performance and achieving targets
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
Proficient in using underwriting software and related tools
Working with SME retail focused distribution.
Lucrative relocation package
