About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President, Legal Counsel for the Public Sector with a strong background in overseeing legal support for government sales, finance, and operating business units. The successful candidate will be responsible for the review and negotiation of a wide range of contracts, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations, and managing a team of legal and contract professionals. Key responsibilities include providing strategic legal direction for revenue-producing government contracts, supporting the sales, consulting, and events teams, and managing the full contract lifecycle. The role also involves developing and maintaining effective relationships with critical stakeholders, balancing business needs with legal and compliance risk management, and creating processes for government contract negotiation and administration.Applicants must have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, with at least 15 years of experience, including a minimum of 10 years in an in-house corporate counsel role. A background in managing other attorneys and contract negotiation professionals is essential, as is experience with the GSA Schedule program and various US Federal Government electronic databases. The role requires the ability to analyze and interpret complex contracts, make reasoned decisions, and exercise independent judgment. The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented leader with strong communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
