Duties
These Public Health Analyst positions are located in the Health Resources and Services Administration. This recruitment may be used to fill multiple positions for any HRSA Bureaus and Offices. The duty location for these positions is Rockville, MD.
These positions are mission critical occupation and is responsible for analyzing public health programs, policies and procedures to ensure that Health Resources and Services Administration meets its mission, goals and objectives. As a HRSA Public Health Analyst at the GS-9, with close supervision and training, you will serve as a point of contact for information about public health program evaluation activities. Your duties and responsibilities include:
Assisting in program evaluation and the measurement of program outcomes.
Performing special projects to analyze and/or identify specific concerns or conditions of relevance and importance to the mission and activities of the center.
Analyzing public health legislation, regulations, executive directives, and Departmental policy issues to determine their relevance to the organization's plans, programs, and activities.
Developing components of short-term and long-range plans and proposals and integrating them in the organization's long-range strategic plan.
Coordinating agency, department, and/or government wide goal setting efforts.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
Knowledge of organizational/operational/programmatic concepts/practices applied by public/private/nonprofit agencies/organizations engaged in public health/ health-related activities.
Knowledge of the methods/processes/techniques used to develop & deliver public health/ health-related programs in State & local settings.
Knowledge of a specialized public health program.
Knowledge of/skill in, applying administrative/analytical methods/techniques necessary for working within the framework of a public health/health related organization & carrying out specific program functions;
Skill in oral/written communications, gathering/conveying information, making oral presentations, & preparing reports/correspondence/other written materials.
For a GS-9
Resume must clearly show 1 year of specialized experience equal in difficulty/responsibility to at least a GS-7 level in the federal service on a regular/recurring basis.
Examples include assisting in gathering & analyzing public health data via surveys, studies, surveillance, etc.; assisting in planning & delivering public health programs/initiatives; assisting in administering & monitoring public health programs.
OR Master's/equal graduate degree or 2 years of higher-level graduate education leading to a degree or an LL.B. /J.D. with a major in public health or major with coursework directly related to this position.
OR Combination of above experience & education that meet 100% of the requirements.
