Position title Senior Buyer Description The Senior Buyer will schedule, order and coordinate the delivery of materials and ingredients in manufacturing, according to the production plan. This includes buying for company brands, as well as on behalf of contract production partners, all with significant volume differences per SKU, with different lead times.
**Brief Job Duties Description**
Assist in the development of a robust Procurement Department that ensures material availability to meet production requirements. Ensure information, such as forecasts, BOM, part numbers, material receipts, lead-times, etc. are entered correctly and timely into accounting system and planning tools. Work with team to develop and create a system that identifies ideal suppliers based on quality, cost and reliability. Actively negotiate with suppliers to ensure these areas are consistently being met. Ensure and maintain proper inventory levels to meet production demand while managing obsolete or slow-moving inventory.
Responsibilities
* Procurement of all raw packaging materials
* Track Inventory
* Help discover and implement better buying practices
* Monitor and communicate shortages in material availability
* Assist Procurement Manager with developing best practices for developing order cycles based on forecasts that meet production needs
* Assist with the ordering of necessary goods, and ensuring they meet operational needs
* Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
Qualifications
* Must have turn cycles experience in buying and supporting multiple vendor relations
* Proven work experience in working within an ERP (preferably Great Plains, Dynamics)
* Proven working experience as a senior buyer
* Must be Dynamic and Flexible
* Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
* Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
* Experience in collecting and analyzing data
* Strong leadership capabilities
* BS degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration is a plus
