Financial Reporting Controller

Role:
As a Director Financial Reporting Controller who wants to make their mark on a growing organization, This role will have the unique opportunity to build a SEC and PCAOB external reporting process from the ground up in preparation for a possible IPO, as well as support building technical accounting policies, work on complex transactions and assist in SOX readiness. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, enjoys collaborating with people across the organization, and embraces a dynamic environment. This person will have direct exposure to board meetings, have an executive presence, and make a mark on the organization!
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for drafting of the monthly financial package and analysis, management reporting, and annual audited financial statements, including supporting schedules
Develop and maintain the SEC financial reporting function including creation of 10-Q's, 10-K's, proxy statements, earnings releases and other forms of SEC financial reports
Collaborate with senior leadership from the new government contracting sector to develop standardized reporting with the commercial entities
Support mergers and acquisitions activity, including integration and purchase accounting
Perform technical research on new accounting pronouncements or other critical matters, draft assessment memos and communications, and develop implementation policies and procedures
Serve as internal lead for the SOX readiness efforts by liaising with the Internal Audit advisors
Maintain share-based compensation activity reports in Carta, including monthly expense calculations and prepare quarterly earnings per share calculations and related documentation
Participate with design, testing, and conversion to a new Workday ERP system and serve as a system administrator responsible for developing reporting and updating configuration
Collaborate with FP&A on budget to actual analysis and investor reporting
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher is required
CPA is required
Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC, SOX and PCAOB requirements
A mixture of public accounting and corporate accounting (preferably within publicly traded company or pre-ipo company) is required
The ability to work within a team environment as well as independently; prior experience building out a team
The ability to put in long hours when needed
Working Conditions:
This position is 4 days in the office with Friday's working from home. This position does have the option of 2 days being based out of a Center City Philadelphia office is needed.
