Akkodis is seeking a Sr IT Support Specialist for a full-time position with our client.

Position: Sr IT Support Specialist

Salary: $60K - 80K(DOE)

Visa - GC/USC Only

Location: Irvine, CA (Onsite 5 days)

MUST HAVE:

Proficiency in Linux, Unix, basic Windows OS, iOS, Android, and standard IT/network support, including desk-side support, troubleshooting printers, conference room equipment, display projectors, and laptops/servers.

Experience in SOX compliance adherence, and the ability to document compliance processes and provide the necessary evidence.

Experience working with a Managed Service Provider (MSP), managing tickets using the MSP's toolkit, and coordinating with remote teams

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to assist end-users with IT issues, provide clear troubleshooting instructions, and train with the MSP representative for seamless support operations.

Relevant certifications such as CompTIA (A+, Network+, Security+)

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for working alongside our Support Services Team to analyze and resolve routine to moderately complex information system issues for end-users anywhere in the environment including, network and production applications and hardware. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong critical thinking, possess excellent communication skills, and have proven problem-solving skills

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Install, configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations, hardware, software, and network equipment.

Support services and administration for common business applications and third-party software:

Microsoft Technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, Active Directory, SharePoint, Office 365, etc. (Required)

Macs/iPhones/iPads (Required)

Remote Access Solutions: VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix. (Required)

Technical services and support for LAN and WAN connectivity, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. (Required)

Printer and copier support and management: removal, installation, server driver configuration. (Required)

Business Awareness: specific knowledge of the customer and how IT related to their business strategy and goals. (Required)

Physical Security/Surveillance Vendor Liaison experience (e.g. ADT)

Execute performance tuning activities, develop monitoring processes, and provide performance recommendations for Linux environment. (Required)

Support Linux servers and configurations, plus reporting and monitoring. (Required)

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

Ability to manage small projects

Could you document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities? (Required)

Enter all work notes in service or project tickets within the internal ticketing system. (Required)

Available to work weekends and evenings, as required by the business.

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Preferred:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below represent the preferred knowledge, skill, and/or ability. A plus is a Bachelors degree in business or information systems with typically at least 2-4 years of end-user support experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)

In-depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat, CentOS, Debian, etc.

Revision Control: Perforce, Git, etc. (Nice to have)

Bug Tracking: Jira, Bugzilla, etc. (Nice to have)

CAD Tools: Cadence and Mentor (Nice to have)

Experience working in IT SOX environment a significant plus

Experience with Cybersecurity initiatives a plus

Interpersonal skills, such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening, and customer care.

Ability to multi-task, adapt to changes quickly while following processes and procedures and take direction positively.

Competent in communicating technical information to technical as well as non-technical end users.

Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately.

Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services.

Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request details.

Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
