WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR Nike seeks a Studio Director who will drive the transformation of our global retail concepts and own the broad approach, including relationship management, coordinated design, and day-to-day operations. They collaborate cross-functionally to ensure there is clear definition and execution of our Retail Concepts worldwide, by leading the creative process from brief through final delivery.
They are experienced at driving large cross-functional programs at an enterprise level, leading and inspiring diverse teams. As the candidate, you'll have a background in design and construction project management, fixture production / management, and/or design studio management, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience navigating a highly matrixed organization, and leading / running large retail rollout programs.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON If this is you, you will solve unique and complex problems and recognize opportunities. You will establish guidelines for design development and implement consistent execution and reporting throughout the team. Working with your team to develop the right approach for each concept, you'll be factoring in the needs of the partners, how they work and how to strategically deliver a solution unique to their business. You will prioritize limited resources against a large scope of projects.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH Youll partner with various multi-disciplinary teams both internal and external with oversight of large scope, multi-faceted, cross functional projects and bodies of work including design schedule management (from project start-up to design development to construction/fabrication and installation), budget management, project communications, workflow and resource management.
In conjunction with the Sr Director, you will build your team of Program and Project Managers driving the development and delivery of Nikes newest retail concepts across the world. You will help your team become established as an impactful delivery organization, with deep knowledge of retail design and FF&E production. Your team leads both remote and local teams; you may travel 5 15% of the time.
In this role, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across Nike as well as external design agencies, architectural firms, fixture and experience vendors, and general contractors.
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Design (Architecture, Industrial) or a related field Business, Operations, Project Management; or equivalent combination of education and experience and training
* Retail industry experience preferred; retail environments and programs (store design, construction/installations, fixtures & furniture, consumer services)
* Minimum 10 years experience in a combination of operations, project management, and production, including 3 years in a managerial role.
* Experience working in a large, global environment, on complex, high visibility projects with large budgets and brand and/or commercial impact
* Demonstrated experience working with Procurement and Legal to negotiate Design and Construction Contracts
* Expert leader that has built and led teams who deliver Construction and Real Estate Programs
