Essential Functions and Objectives:
Leads and coaches team, providing oversight and support while performing the day to day work of the liaison role. Serves as a point of contact for escalated concerns and acts as an intermediary between team and school leadership. Ensures the team carries out routine functions necessary to provide interventions that enable students to have a safe, productive, and successful educational experience.
- Serves as team lead, providing professional development, training, and feedback to members; proactively guides work of team and builds a positive and collaborative culture.
- Tracks and reports on work and team goals, ensuring achievement of individual, team and school priorities.
- Develops and maintains a strong line of communication between school staff and team members; handles and resolves general problems and ensures issues are escalated, as needed, for proper resolution.
- Engages in identifying student needs, especially when it has to do with their academic or social lives, and provides/suggests solutions where necessary; helps students establish and achieve their attendance goals and assists in the application of appropriate interventions for chronically absent students.
- Refers students to school counselors or social workers, especially in situations that have escalated beyond academic or social concerns, and coordinates with school counseling and other staff to be kept apprised on issues affecting a students' academic performance and/or social conflicts with teachers, students and parents.
- Consults with teachers, parents, and school personnel about learning, social, and behavioral issues and confers with teachers and parents regarding the student's strengths, opportunities for growth and aptitudes.
- Maintains a positive school environment through effective conflict resolution, collaboration, positive reinforcement, and modeling; implements curriculum and restorative approaches feedback to develop positive social skills.
- Develops community partnerships that are willing to offer programs and/or services for students at the school in alignment of identified needs.
- Establishes and maintains accurate student records and files regarding attendance and disciplinary issues; analyzes and reports data findings to school leadership, including Intervention Plans when necessary.
Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
- Three (3) or more years of experience and demonstrated success in working collaboratively with other professional staff on instructional improvement issues.
- Three (3) or more years of experience leading small teams or programs preferred.
- Three (3) or more years of experience working with alternative youth and service providers preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Google Workspace.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate with others on challenging, time sensitive projects as a team player.
- Ability to assess appropriate priorities and organize workload on multiple assignments.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Models excellent customer service.
- High degree of integrity in handling confidential information.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a credible and confident manner at all levels in the organization, both verbally and in writing.
