We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our dynamic team in developing cutting-edge models and applying AI methods to enhance our video game products. In this critical role, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex datasets related to our games and player behaviors. Your insights will directly influence decision-making across game design, development, marketing, and business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and deploy advanced machine learning models and algorithms at scale to drive innovation in our games

- Dive into multi-game projects to leverage data and provide insights that elevate the player experience at launch and beyond

- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including producers, designers, analysts, and engineers to integrate AI/ML solutions

- Utilize machine learning to build products or inform decisions that directly improve player engagement, retention, and monetization

- Own the end-to-end ML lifecycle including data acquisition, feature engineering, model training, tuning, and deployment

- Effectively communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI/ML and apply them to drive continuous improvement in our games

About the team

The Games, Central Business Intelligence Team is a group of talented and collaborative Data Scientists. Together with Data Engineering and Data Science we support Amazon's entire portfolio of live and upcoming games. We're gamers who love using data to understand "What's fun" and bring more of that to our players.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of data scientist experience

- 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience

- 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance experience

- 3+ years of Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops) experience

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language

- Experience in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company

The base pay for this position ranges from $125,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market.
